HISTORICAL REFERENCE
The Polotsk plant "Selkhozooborudovaniya" was founded in 1927 on the basis of small handicraft workshops called "Trud-Collective", which arose from the association of small handicraftsmen in the "Union of Metalworkers". It was the only metalworking enterprise in the city of Polotsk.
By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in 1941, the reconstruction of the workshops was completed. The number of workers and employees was about 200 people. The volume and range of production has significantly expanded. Products were shipped to all union republics of the country. During the difficult years of the occupation of the city of Polotsk (July 1941 - July 1944) the workshops were completely destroyed.
After liberation from the Nazi enslavers, the workers of Polotsk actively began to restore the destroyed enterprises of the city. By the beginning of 1945, the workshops were restored, and the number of employees was 36 people.
This year the workshops are named Polotsk Metalwork and Mechanical Plant.
Since 1947, the plant has been expanding the range of its products and renamed the Foundry and Mechanical Plant.
In the period from 1959 to 1964. a complete reconstruction of the foundry is being carried out in the direction of expanding the production of sanitary-technical items (fittings and sewer parts and siphons).
By 1967, the plant significantly expanded the production of household items, sharply increased the production of agricultural machinery and spare parts for agricultural machinery, as well as the production of cast iron. In 1967 the plant was renamed into "Polotsk Foundry and Mechanical Plant".
From year to year, the staff of the enterprise expanded production and mastered more and more new products.
The main products of the plant were agricultural products (plows, hillers, stall equipment for carpets, drinkers, spare parts for agricultural machines, axles for carts) and consumer goods (axes, shovels, buckets, cisterns, clothes hangers, cigarette cases, biscuits, ashtrays) and also cast iron (piano frame, shaped - sewer parts, siphons, weight casting, children's piano plates).
